About Us
Founded in 1976, Amidon Building Restoration is a family owned and operated business. We have served the Central New York area for over 30 years, with hundreds of projects ranging in size and encompassing every facet of the construction trade.
Our projects have included 200’ high steeple work, excavating and installing new structural beams and pillars, as well as everything in between.
In 1996 our company took up additional operations in Historic Savannah, Georgia. We spent 12 years there completing numerous historic preservation projects. During that 12 year period Amidon Building Restoration was the recipient of 5 Historic Savannah Foundation Awards, as well as 1 award from The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation.
The love of the Adirondacks brought us back to New York in 2006, where we have continued our work throughout Central and Northern New York.

Hundreds of barns are being allowed to collapse due to a lack of maintenance . Many barn failures begin with a small roof leak or a foundation failure.
Beam deterioration in barns and historic structures is usually just one factor needing attention in the restoration process. Determination of the root cause is essential; possible causes include: drain problems, wind and water effects, and load problems.
We will not only repair your structure back to it’s original condition or better, we will determine the cause of the failure and eliminate the problem.
Our projects are done one at a time, allowing us to give our personal attention from start to finish.
